Nicole Garton

Lawyer and Mediator
Nicole Garton, B.A., LL.B, LL.M., C.Med, FEA, TEP, is a lawyer, mediator and parenting coordinator of wills and estates and family law matters. In her solicitor’s practice, Nicole advises on all aspects of estate planning and administration, including the preparation of wills, powers of attorney, representation agreements and trusts, as well as applications for probate and letters of administration.

Valeriya Kalyuzhna

Paralegal
Valeriya completed the paralegal degree program at Capilano University and has experience in family law, estate planning and litigation. Before joining us in 2022, she completed her practicum at a boutique law firm in Burnaby, focusing on family law.

Emily Jones

Administrative Assistant
Emily is a part-time Administrative Assistant at Heritage Law. Emily assists our staff and clients with various administrative and client matters. Emily is a student at Handsworth Secondary and a competitive swimmer.

Margot Lively

Administrative Assistant
Following a 33 year career as a Court Clerk for the Supreme Court of British Columbia, Margot joined Heritage Law and Trust in June, 2023. Margot’s responsibilities include maintaining and securing records, administrative duties and providing support to staff.

Greg Brennand

Senior Trust Officer
Greg is an Senior Trust Officer at Heritage Law. Greg specializes in the administration of complex estates as he had 18 years of prior experience administering estates in the public sector for the government of British Columbia.

Julia Zubko

Paralegal Practicum Student
Julia is completing her Bachelor of Legal (Paralegal) Studies at Capilano University and is joining us as a Paralegal Practicum Student. During her time at Capilano, Julia gained a new perspective on the legal system and became a member of the BC Paralegal Association (BCPA).

Elizabeth Markus

Director of Knowledge Management and Paralegal
Since launching her legal career in 1987, Elizabeth has worked in diverse practice areas, including business and corporate, wills and estates, civil litigation and family law. On obtaining her Legal Assistant Diploma in Toronto, Ontario, she first worked for a small intellectual property law firm in London, Ontario, while completing her degree at the University of Western Ontario.

Stacie Ayukawa, MTI

Family Law Paralegal
Stacie completed the paralegal diploma program at Capilano University, where she was awarded several scholarships and distinctions for her academic achievements. Stacie was also selected by the university to give the student address speech during convocation for the department of business and professional studies.
